Ivan the Adventurous.

In December 2008, I sent my friend korpun a mouse named Ivan who claimed to be a long lost relative of a mouse who had taken up residence in korpun's island cottage. Long story.

Anyway, Ivan arrived safely in Tampere, Finland and since then, has traveled around the world with korpun who has documented their adventures together in photographs which can be found here. Ivan is like the garden gnome in Amelie, only he's far surpassed the number of places the gnome traveled to.

Korpun often sends me postcards from exotic locations that I have only ever seen (only ever will see) on PBS travel shows, and he sends me a Christmas card every year because he's such a nice person.

Yesterday I was speaking to Justin about the travels of korpun and Ivan while we were discussing China in general and Chinese girls in particular, and then today, korpun posted a recent photo of Ivan sitting on the windowsill of his hotel in Israel.

I decided to visit korpun's journal to look again at all the photos of the places he and Ivan have been, and I realized that 1) I have missed some of korpun's travel posts, and that 2) it's actually mind boggling how many places korpun and Ivan have been in just four short years.

Not only has Ivan the Adventurer traveled the world extensively, he has bravely bungee jumped off a bridge in New Zealand, climbed to the summit of a mountain in Lapland where he signed his name in a guest book, rode the New York City subway which I have heard can be a fur raising experience, viewed Paris from the dizzying heights of the Eiffel Tower, and went on a high speed luge type sledding expedition. Check out this heart stopping footage!

I took the time to write down all the places Ivan has been in the last four years, and I'm not even sure if this list is complete, but korpun can fill in any countries I might have missed. I seem to recall that Ivan visited a tropical forest somewhere in Asia but I could be wrong about that.

Where in the world has Ivan traveled to?

Morocco
China
Mongolia
Russia
Lapland
Switzerland
Poland
New Zealand
Australia
USA
Japan
France
Sweden
Jordan
Israel

Is this not the most lucky mouse in the entire world?

Edit korpun added these locations to my list:
Malaysia, Singapore, Spain, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway, Egypt, Croatia, Montenegro, Bosnia Herzegovina, Germany, Sri Lanka, Scotland, Ireland... next heading to Kenia & Tanzania

Mind = blown.
